Re: Ecolab Institutional Division Success With Ozone Laundry Systems

Dear Shane,

I just wanted to take the opportunity to document the success to date that our mutual customers are receiving from our ability to work closely together in this ever changing On-Premise-Laundry market. Whilst my Ecolab U.S.A. associates advised me of their working relationship with NuTek in the very large American market, I was skeptical moving forward.

However, John Pierri (our Victorian OPL Specialist) advises me that the ability of Ecolab’s Ultra Liquid Laundry Program to harmonize so well with your ozone system to deliver not only wash standards as per AS4146:2000, but also meet the all important bacteria counts required under that standard.

As you know, Ecolab’s Textile Care Division here in Australia has a lions share of the commercial laundry market, and is now complimented with it’s Aquamiser and Energy Optimiser Program. Whilst this energy and water conservation program is providing the commercial laundry market with savings of up to $50,000 to $60,000 P.A., I eagerly wanted to be able to provide the On-Premise-Laundry market with an equivalent or comparable system that can reduce energy and water also.

The problem has been that the costs associated (typically) with reducing energy and water in OPL’s was not only invasive to most OPL’s, in an engineering sense, the ROI was not within sensible business plans. You’re “bolt on” ozone laundry system attaches so easily to the OPL’s we have been associated with, I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to get up and go, and reduce costs from day one.

Shane, you know my background, I have been working within the laundry and dry cleaning industry for over thirty years. Whilst I don’t feel that ozone is the “magic bullet” for the OPL industry, thus far I’m satisfied and confident enough to be able to suggest to Ecolab customers that they should assess for themselves your Ozone system, and the benefits provided. Based on other technologies, your system seems deceptively simple and efficient in providing the suggested savings.

In my home state of Queensland, we are down to some quite severe water restrictions. Ecolab’s customers are asking us how we can assist them in reducing water (in particular), as it’s obviously a hot topic at the moment. It’s comforting to know we can provide answers now, and we look forward to be able to work together in the future.
