With the new hotel, came the need for expanded laundry operations. So, the resort staff went in search of quality laundry equipment, but there was an extra item on the usual list of equipment. Steve Mills, Director of Accommodations for Cedar Point, says they wanted a reliable ozone laundry system in their new facility when it opened.

The job of picking washers and dryers is not that difficult if you know the size of laundry you want and the poundage you will process. Picking an ozone system five years ago was a little trickier. Companies had come and gone, references were scarce and systems did not seem very user friendly. Most of the ozone companies had spotty performances at best on big laundry equipment.

Carol Horkey, the current laundry manager, says she thinks of the systems like she would the hot water heater, if they used one. "We have never done anything to the systems since the day we opened," she says. The only service done on the systems was for M&L to replace a noisy cooling fan on a routine service trip to the property.

The laundry has never used hot water since the day it opened, making it one of only a handful of laundries designed to have an ozone system from the start.
